After voting to take protected industrial action last week with a significant majority of 90%, workers will today file for a 24 hour stop-work this Friday 17 January.

Warehouse workers in Truganina are the only Coles warehouse workers that don’t have their own site agreement. Whilst wrapped up in a national agreement that covers truck drivers, Truganina warehouse workers do not have the same rights as other Coles warehouse workers to organise for health & safety and workplace conditions. This means they have less of a say and less control over their working lives than other Coles warehouse workers.

At present Linfox are refusing to put the NUW into the national agreement at all, which denies the 400 NUW members at Truganina their union rights.

As long as Linfox treats one set of workers differently, NUW members will continue to fight to be heard and respected.
