GMB members at VIP Polymers consult on strike action after ultimatum

VIP PolymersGMB members at VIP Polymers in Huntingdon are being consulted on possible strike action after being told they will be sacked unless they accept a 10% pay cut.

The company, which makes rubber seals used in the waste and drainage industries, told employees they would also face severe erosions in their terms and conditions.

Alan Costello GMB Organiser said, “Loyal GMB members who have already suffered redundancies and short time working are currently being consulted in relation to a potential ballot for industrial action over the issue. Quite frankly, given all that theses members have already suffered this is now a cut too far and they can literally take no more.

“Loyal workers who have carried the company through good times and bad do not deserve to be treated like this.”
