Unite members have voted by 81% to accept the latest pay proposal put forward by local government employers.

With GMB and UNISON members tomorrow expected to accept the same deal, there is a possibility the dispute by local government workers may be over.

Unite is not commenting tonight, but will tomorrow issue a joint statement with the other two unions.

The unions last month suspended strike action to allow their members to decide on whether or not to accept new proposals put forward by the Local Government Association.
