Judge rules in favour of ASLEF and fails to grant injunction to stop strike
A Boxing Day strike by Tube drivers is to go ahead after a High Court judge refused to grant an injunction stopping it.
London Underground had tried to stop the strike by ASLEF members, claiming it was illegal because drivers who were not scheduled to work on Boxing Day had voted in the ballot.
But Mr Justice Eder sided with the union, saying he would give his reasons later.
Aslef wants triple pay and a day off in lieu for drivers for working on the bank holiday.
ASLEF general secretary Mick Whelan said: “Whilst we’re obviously very pleased with today’s verdict, we feel that two days have been wasted going through the courts when we could spent that time finding a resolution to this dispute.”
