Grassroots conference aims to inspire activists to make a difference in their workplaces and society

Trade union activists next month have the chance to share exciting and practical ideas on campaigning, organising and mobilising at the first Grassroots conference.

Held in London on May 26th at the TUC’s headquarters, and supported by Friends of the Earth, UK Feminsta and the New Statesman, the event will focus on three key themes: building support, building membership and communicating effectively with members.

Becky Wright, director of the TUC’s Organising Academy, said: “‘Since this government was elected I’ve been overwhelmed by the huge wave of action and opposition and in all the forms it has taken. Grassroots is a about creating a space where we can link all the different groups up with each other and hear what’s working so that we can be as effective as we can be in our opposition.”
