A strike by West End theatre staff has been averted after employers offered a new pay deal to staff.

BECTU members had voted for strike action after rejecting a 1.8% increase, but after a twelve-hour meeting at ACAS, union negotiators managed to secure an increase of 20.1% for front of house staff and an increase of 4.5% for all other staff.

BECTU is recommending its members accept the new deal.
