Labour MPs Jim Murphy MP the shadow international development minister, Clive Efford MP the shadow minister for sport and Stephen Hepburn MP have joined with UCATT activists to show Qatar the Red Card.

The union is campaigning for pressure to be applied to FIFA to tell Qatar that they have 12 months to end the abuse of migrant construction workers or be stripped of the right to hold the World Cup in 2022.

UCATT general secretary Steve Murphy said: “Pressure is growing on Qatar to end the exploitation and deaths of migrant workers. FIFA must act and to tell Qatar that unless this abuse is ended then they will be stripped of the right to hold the World Cup.”
