Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) is one of the world’s largest paper and pulp manufacturers. They are threatening to use military force to break a strike in Indonesia. Please show your support for the striking workers by emailing senior directors of APP protesting against their threat to use military force to break a strike by the Indonesian Paper Workers Union (FSP2KI). You can use the attached draft letter or write your own. The email addresses of the directors of APP and the FSP2KI union are contained in the letter.

APP has a very poor environmental and human rights record, and sources wood from endangered forests (PDF report). The use of military force to break a strike shows clearly their contempt for workers’ rights.

The Indonesian union FSP2KI is affiliated to IndustriALL, the global manufacturing union, and has good relationships with sister unions around the world.
