A demonstration against labour law reform in May

This weekend, on Saturday the 23rd of November, and on Sunday in 24 in Andalusia, Catalonia and Asturias, more than 70 Spanish cities will demonstrate against austerity/

This is in the context of a large mobilisation in Europe organized by the European Trade Union Confederation. Workers and the general public are called to mobilise for their rights and against the policy of cuts, under the slogan:

“Use your strength. Let’s change things. Defend the public sphere. Defend people. Defend pensions.”

More than fifty events will take place in the streets in different Spanish cities to demand a more just resolution to the crisis.

The CCOO union federation in Spain says:

“We want to see people placed at the heart of all politics, and place the collective good before individualism. We will defend the social and labour rights of citizens, public services and pensions.

These will be days of protest and struggle, called by the unions, civil society, and citizens platforms against a policy of cuts imposed by the EU and supported by various national governments, including the Spanish, which ignores the citizen and is generating more unemployment, more poverty and more inequality.”

Solidarity with Spanish comrades, and with those mobilising for the 1:12 referendum in Switzerland!
