The RMT has secured the latest in a line of Olympics bonus payments with a £700 deal for staff working on the key Heathrow Express link which is expected to deal with a surge in demand throughout the games period.

The agreement rewards staff with an extra £700 with the opportunity to earn additional payments on a voluntary basis with no threat to annual leave or enforced extension of hours.

RMT general secretary Bob Crow said: “This is another important agreement secured by our negotiators which recognises the crucial role that Heathrow Express staff will play throughout the games period.

“Our members deserve every extra penny for helping to deliver services throughout the biggest transport challenge that London has ever faced over the coming weeks.”
