    Solidarity with the Spanish Miners

Miners in Spain are involved in a historic dispute and need support from trade unionists around the world. Please read the letter from the solidarity committee below and add your signature.

    Spanish Miners’ Solidarity Committee letter

    Dear comrades, brothers and sisters

We are a group of ex-miners and their supporters, including female activists from the Women Against Pit Closures/Womens’ Action Groups movement, in the UK who declare their total support for the miners of Spain, their families and their communities.
In 1984-5, we too fought a long, hard battle against the closure of our mines and, like you, suffered under a reign of terror from the government of Margaret Thatcher and the police.
We are full of admiration for your struggle and your determination NOT to pay for the crisis of capitalism caused by the financiers and the bankers.
The road ahead will be long and hard but we will do everything possible to support you because a victory for the Spanish miners will be a victory for us and for all the workers of Europe.
    Para de cerrar minas!
    Viva los minieros Espanoles!
    No pasaran!
