We reached an important milestone today – 100 affiliations from trade union branches.

At USi we’re trying to do something different: like many other activist organisations, we’re inspired by the possibility of new media to raise awareness and influence the world.

But we believe that for change to happen, it needs to be rooted in the real world, and linked into the lives and struggles of ordinary working people. A campaign that exists only in cyberspace is nebulous – a campaign rooted in the deep structures of the trade union movement can tap into our collective power.

It’s a great way of bringing old and new methods of organising together, and making the best use of everything in our tool box.

By affiliating, you link your union branch into crucial campaigns to build union and collective power around the world. All money raised from affiliations goes to support union projects, such as the campaign to organise brick kiln workers in India, which is now fully funded.

Please also encourage all the members of your branch to subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media – we want you engage with us, share our stories and give us feedback.

And if you haven’t affiliated, you can do so today: you can affiliate as a union branch, regional or national structure, co-op or individual from just £5 per year.

Thanks for your support!
