TSSA union launch smart phone app

USi was impressed to learn that the TSSA rail union has launched a new mobile phone app. The app, called the Olympic Survival Kit, will help visitors to London during the Olympic games, keep in touch with members, and raise awareness about the vital contribution public transport workers are making to keep London moving during this busy time.

This shows real innovation and willingness to use all the available technologies to connect with members, potential members, campaigners and the travelling public.

    In their own words:

“TSSA has used our expert knowledge to put together a mobile app to help you survive the Olympics and fight for a better railway. The app has transport updates, Games schedules, useful contacts and travel guides. It’s also a fantastic campaigning tool, with information about TSSA campaigns, Fair Fares Now, Campaign for Better Transport and Climate Rush, and a dedicated TSSA members’ section.

You can use the app to sign up to the TSSA Olympic Pledge, a campaign which highlights the vital role of public transport workers and calls for a properly funded, fully integrated public transport service.”

To download the app or to see it online visit tssa.org.uk/app
