Union Solidarity International and Trade Union TV Ireland wish to announce our agreement of joint work and intention to fuse our respective social media and online communications platforms to be the one force.

Trade unions and their members realise the immense challenges in communicating a trade union message due to the concentration of the media in the hands of conglomerates and wealthy individuals.

Consequently we pledge to pursue the following aims and objectives to promote solidarity:

Aims

  • To work on joint endeavours to promote a trade union message across all social media and online communication streams
  • To reinforce each other’s respective work to maximise the support for trade union objectives
  • To promote and support solidarity campaigns with trade unions in the UK, Ireland and in countries worldwide.
  • To identify and propose practical solidarity initiatives and to raise funding for such projects.
  • To encourage greater understanding of international issues within trade unions and progressive social and community organisations, and to assist in the development of effective international education.
  • To campaign on solidarity activities promoting human and trade union rights.

USi and Trade Union TV seek to create the one platform and reach an audience base of hundreds of thousands of people around the world.  We are excited about the potential of this initiative and would encourage others to help us realise the ambition of creating an online global community of trade unionists and progressives that can drive and campaign for change.
