Members of the Blacklist Support Group are this evening protesting against the arrest on Wednesday night of Dave Smith, who was taken into police custody after a demonstration at the Construction Awards in London.

The author of Blacklisted was released after six hours and charged with obstructing the highway.

In a message to supporters, the BSG said: “On Wednesday one of our brothers was arrested for protesting about the illegal blacklist and the sackings at Crossrail.

“We will not be bowed by their intimidation. Please support the demo at 5.30pm at Bond Street station.”

It continued: “No more sackings. No more deaths. We want an agreement on Crossrail. This is a really important demo and we need a show of strength. Please do your best to come, and please pass on: an injury to one is an injury to all.”
