Web Conference with Professor Steve Keen

We’ll be speaking to Professor Steve Keen in a live web conference.

Date: 16 January 2013

Time: 7 pm GMT

Steve is Professor of Economics & Finance at the University of Western Sydney, and author of the popular book Debunking Economics, a second edition of which has just been published (Zed Books UK, 2011; www.debunkingeconomics.com).

Steve was one of the very few who predicted the financial crisis as long ago as December 2005. His book Debunking Economics is an excellent critique of the field of economics, which Steve believes is fundamentsally flawed.

You will have an opportunity to participate in the web conference and put your questions to him.

You can visit his website Debt Deflation and follow him on twitter @ProfSteveKeen

Joining instructions:

On the right side of the home page there is a box called Web Conference, with a drop down list of meeting rooms. Select the meeting called “Steve Keen”.

Type in your name, and password 123.

Click ‘Join’, and you will be redirected to the web conference.

A window will pop up asking permission to use your web cam and microphone, as well as the opportunity to choose devices and edit preferences. Allow, and click ‘join audio’. If possible, use a head set, as computer speakers can cause feedback.

Your web cam won’t come on automatically. There is a camera icon in the top left hand corner of the screen. If you click that a video window will open with a ‘play’ button at the bottom. If you click that your video will go live.

If you don’t have a web cam and mic, you can still participate by typing questions into the chat box.

You can ask questions by typing them in the chat area to the right of the screen, or by clicking the hand icon.

Please join us – we look forward to speaking to you.

We last spoke to Professor Keen in July last year. Over 2,000 people watched the video of that conversation, which you can see below. Don’t miss your opportunity to participate!
