Napo members join GMB members in signing up to local government scheme

Probation officers have voted to accept the government’s pensions proposals.

Members of Napo voted 1,242 to 260 (83%) in favour of supporting the Local Government Pensions Scheme on an 18.5% turnout.

Napo general secretary Jonathan Ledger said: “The excellent support for the strike in November last year demonstrated the determination of members to protect their pensions and was the catalyst for a positive outcome in the subsequent negotiations.”

Last week, GMB members voted to accept the proposals, with results from UNISON and Unite expected on Friday. Yesterday, POA members voted to reject a separate pensions deal.
