Union accepts invitation to meet bosses after successful strike
The CWU has called off further strike action at the Post Office after bosses requested a meeting to resolve the dispute.
Following successful action two weekends ago, union leaders received a letter today from Kevin Gilliland, Network and Sales Director for the Post Office inviting them to talks next week. A second wave of strike action had been planned for Friday.
CWU national officialAndy Furey said: “As a consequence of the letter received from the Post Office’s Kevin Gilliland we’ve taken the decision not to service notice on the business for further strike action and have taken the business up on their offer to meet for talks.”
