Training will be given to those who help marshall Future That Works

The TUC is looking for volunteers to act as stewards for the Future That Works march in London on October 20th.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to attend the event in what is being described as the biggest trade union mobilisation for a generation.

TUC national organiser Carl Roper said:  “If the March For A Future That Works is to be as safe and successful as the March for the Alternative, then we need to ensure that on the day we have as many stewards as possible.

“We’re looking for volunteers for two steward roles: senior stewards will work in teams to look after sections of march route and other areas around the route, while route stewards will be on the march themselves but will be available as a point of information and support for others who are marching.”

All stewards will be offered training and briefings both before and on the day of the march.
